Thaddeus Giles House // 1858

Built by stone and brick mason, Thaddeus Giles (1829-1906), this home showcases his craftsmanship in an Italianate format. The home is constructed of brick with stucco over the front facade. Quoins and a brick foundation runs to the ground and are rusticated to appear like a granite foundation (some brick is visible). Most notably, small modillions run under the eaves and offer a lot of detail! This home is definitely a treasure and unique to Rockport!
